This is a great idea. My mother & grandmother were both beloved public school teachers. I volunteered as a reading tutor & taught art vistas art lessons in SJUSD, then helped @ Pioneer HS in drama dept. & was tennis team Mom. Students in public school need schools open!

The kids are not a risk. The teachers are not at any more risk than anyone else like grocery store clerks, etc. They need to get off of their behinds and go back to work. We are loosing a generation...

My straight A kids are failing!! This needs to happen. They are depressed and spend 22 hrs a day at home/in their rooms. Please reopen!!

As a former resident of San Jose and still having loved ones in the city! It doesn’t matter if the kids are in K-12 they need to reopen on a hybrid schedule, morning and afternoon schedules and hybrid days of in person school and distance learning.
I now live in a different county and my child attends school that way.

Because you have kept our public schools closed, despite all safety reopening protocols, we will keep our daughter in a private learning environment where she can safely interact with her teachers and her peers.

So far, the school districts have NOT been able to provide proper PPE, cleaning solutions for surfaces, HEPA filters for the rooms, etc.
Many want to get vaccinated, the state/county has still not vaccinated all of the healthcare workers, first responders, +75/65 year olds.
Yes, the kids need to get back to school - no one planned on Covid, I for one, do not want to hold the hand of a teacher who is dying in ICU alone because they went back to teaching before they had everything they needed to be safe.
