I recently moved away from California due to the over strict guidelines for schools (and life). Utah schools have been open since August with no issues in our elementary schools. Our teachers are 1 week from their second dose of moderna. Most teachers in our district that did get covid-19 this fall were traced to have been exposed outside of school. Follow science, not litigation fears.

My 1st grader is fortunate enough to live within Union School District and has the opportunity to go back to school half days on February 22. I feel that going TO school and socializing with kids his age is a crucial part of a child’s education. I trust that the school is doing everything it needs to do to keep the teachers and students safe. I hope all children will have this option soon!

It’s ridiculous that 10M was spent to increase connectivity when we knew in the summer of 2020 that schools could reopen with little risk. That money should have gone to in person instruction at the beginning of the school year.

Special needs teachers need the vaccine first !! They do way more than the average teacher including coming into contact on the daily of bodily fluids.
