Safe Winter Roads for St. Paul

Yes, it is too long to wait for 30hrs after 3+ inches or more has fallen. I am unable to get off my block to get to work when the plows take that long to come and plow our residential streets, and the intersections. Please correct the problem ASAP we do live in MN...Snow is expected to fall every winter.

I'm over by Hamline University and it is a solid two days after the snow stops before our street is plowed. It is ridiculous that we need to own 4-wheel drive vehicles, so we can drive the three blocks to get to a properly maintained road. I have missed work in the past due to our unplowed street.

My car has gotten majorly stuck on residential roads TWICE, both times a solid day after the snowfall occurred. Please do better!

I live on Iglehart Ave. It was not plowed at all two weeks ago after the snow. We shoveled our own parking spots. Mackubin (which runs by MLK center, an elementary school) is not plowed and dangerous for students and passerby.

I cannot afford to have my car stranded for ANOTHER three days due to the city's indifference and incompetence. #onetermmelvin

I live in St. Paul and support your move because I it's right.

I am luck I live on a busy small street which get plowed sooner but I totally agreed that the city needs to plow these smaller street sooner. It seems like they left it to be last so it will eventually look like it's plowed because the snow are being run over by cars.

So so tired of paying street maintenance fees that cover so little plowing. When it IS actually plowed, it is not a quality job as the ends of the streets/intersections are not cleaned up and there is usually a huge hump of snow left for residents to try to navigate over and not get stuck in their vehicles. Also always seems like a rush/I complete job. On days that the city decides there is not enough snow to plow, you have to strategically plan your exit out of your driveway so that you don't get stuck on your unplowed street. Once getting out of St. Paul and into Roseville.....cleaned streets!! Not plowing the "just under" 3 inches of snow policy results in tricky navigation, snow packed down by cars streets, with pothole-like conditions left to drive on until it finally starts to melt. We deserve cleaned streets like Roseville and Maplewood!

In the snow that accumulated between 2/4 to 2/15, my low traffic road was plowed once for the 12" of snow that fell. And, that was 12" of snow on top of the ice we received a week previous that was never treated. I joke that if we get bunch of snow, I am unable to leave the house for 2 days because that is how long it takes to get our road plowed. Something needs to change.

I was surprised to read the news article that stated the city plows the night after it snows. We live in highland park and I can state that with 100% accuracy, our street isn’t plowed for at least two days after it snows. Which is pointless by then. The plows just make the streets worse after waiting so long and having so many cars drive on it already. We live by CDH and watch as all the kids get stuck at every stop sign for several days after it snows. It’s so bad in St. Paul that my coworkers from other cities razz me all the time about how long we have to wait for plows to come by in St. Paul. Something truly needs to change. I’m not sure why all the other cities have it figured out, but St. Paul is nowhere close to clearing streets in a timely and safe manner.

Recycling pick up is not happening but yet our trash trucks are doing their jobs.

I live in lowertown St. Paul and snow removal is terrible , please help for our safety!

I work at a St. Paul school and it is impossible to get around in the city with only 1 car width to make it through even plowed streets with parking on both sides,let alone where it isn’t plowed.

School buses are having a terrible time navigating the city streets. Imagine that your child has to wait 90 minutes in the cold for his/her bus to get to the stop. That's unacceptable and it's happening! I'm a school secretary and I know it is true.
