I've been emailing the mayor's office with suggestions as snow removal either changes in St. Paul or I won't be staying here. I agree it's a safety issue and our roads need to be usable in the winter. My suggestions are: hiring suburbs to plow here after they finish in their towns (right now they do multiple passes before we do one); hiring the folks who do our alleys to also do our roads; plowing down the center of the residential streets (like they do on Grand) even when a snow emergency is not reached. Just some thoughts on how to improve.

I live in an alley where this is the only way to get in and out as we are on the bluff on Hall Ln. They tend to skip us ALOT. Where do our tax dollars go?

Long over due for change. St Paul should emulate Minneapolis’s snow management- from alleys to what streets they plow and how (odd/even verses the idiotic day/night plow route debacle). Minneapolis even salts and sands neighborhood streets and plows the streets and alleys w out a snow emergency!

I think you need to go to one sided parking the whole winter season, then buses could get through and children could get to school. All vehicles could safely pass through! Plows would be able to do a better job and get intersections and alley openings cleaned out too!.

I live on the East Side. The streets are horrible for days. And the whole "yeah it snowed but it's going to snow tomorrow so we'll wait until after that to plow" is ridiculous. Also, plow the alleys if you want city wide garbage and recycling pick up. ACTUALLY TOW VEHICLES!!! You say cars will be towed but there are some on the east side that have not moved all winter and are just giant mounds of liability. Taxes went up over 20% for 2019. DO BETTER!

I live on Carroll, it is often neglected by the plows for several days, sometimes not plowed at all, I've helped dig out school buses that get stuck. I've missed work, I'm considering selling the house and moving to another city.

I'm sick of this,we pay property taxes this is supposed to goes towards the maintenance and will also pay another thing as this part of it as called tabs every year and this doesn't include the gasoline tax that they collect I don't want to hear no story that they don't have the money to keep the streets clean it benefits everyone especially those that are limited it with the limited ability to get around like myself I'm sick of this it's time for a change it's time to clean house in there put people in there that that's going to do their job not making excuses because you can't plow down the street because there's a parked car I want to hear all that it's time for a change.

It is unacceptable to not plow the roads quicker. It's a big hazard for the school busses, parents and emergency vehicles. I have to keep my school age kids home, even when the district still had school because I could not get out of my driveway. If I can't get around on streets because they are not owed quickly, I can't send them because if there was an emergency z I would not be able to get there to help them.

Please explain to me how the City expects those who are of limited mobility to be able to safely navigate the residential streets of St Paul when there is an accumulation of unplowed snow and slush. The lack of maintenance of residential streets is dangerous for both motorists and pedisterians. St Paul can do better.
I would also love to understand why alleyways, where garbage and recycling pick up takes place, are not plowed by the City.

TAG and TOW TOW TOW. I have lived here 40 years. Pay double what friends pay for property taxes. Have NEVER had my whole block played. College kids live and park in the neighborhood. Plows come through. Tag trucks HOURS behind the plows. College kids just move their cars after the plows. Just an idea tag and tow!!! PLOW CURB TO CURB stop wasting our money!

I cannot believe how long it takes to get roads cleared in St. Paul. And by the time the plows get around to the residential streets the snow is often so compacted that the plow cannot get down to the pavement. Why can't St. Paul have a simple even-odd winter parking policy: from Nov. through April cars park on the even or odd side of the street depend on on the calendar day. This would allow plows to clear half the roads on any given day regardless of the amount of snowfall.

As a resident with only street parking it has been exceptionally difficult to manage snow emergency parking when minimal plowing has occurred during snow fall or closely there after. In order to park on an allowed snow emergency route I am forced to drive and park on basically already impassable roads. I regularly get stuck trying to get on and off of snow emergency routes, and further plowed in. It seems unreasonable that it should require a tow truck (which it has) to get me out of my spot after a snow emergency.

This is Minnesota. We should expect and plan for snow. Even the convention of calling it a "snow emergency" before we plow is silly. We should not all need 4x4 cars to live in St. Paul.
