Safe Winter Roads for St. Paul

Alleys should be included too.

The streets of Eastside Saint Paul is a complete mess with the hills we have it’s unsafe to travel without proper plowing

I live close to the border of St. Paul and West St. Paul I get to see how both cities plow the cities street. WSP plows all the way to the curb. I don’t understand why St Paul plows can’t do this. It makes the streets dangerously narrow.

Worst city I’ve lived in as far as snow removal. Sad because it’s a great city! Get it together!

St Paul, the beautiful capital city of the great state of Minnesota, has got to start living up to its own standards, and do a better job of keeping residential streets clear. I will go to visit family in Mankato or St. Peter and find that the streets are cleared relatively quickly after big snow falls, and then head back home to St. Paul to find that it is still utter snowmageddon. I'll drive up Lexington Ave on the way to work and it will be covered in slush, only to turn onto Larpenteur in Roseville and find it is totally clear. Has anyone attempted to calculate the cost for the residents of the city to have such poorly maintained roads in the winter? How many hours of work go undone? How many businesses go un-patronised? I have to believe the cost to the city and its citizens is greater in the long run by not plowing more, then whatever is saved by our current inadequate policies.

I live on the East side of st. paul my street is a night plow street that does not get plow because the ticket and tow do not happen here. So cars park on the street nobody move their cars so no tickets no towing the street is always a hot mess.

I have to help like a dozen people push their cars out just pulling in and out of their own alleyways each snow storm. That just ain't right!

Please plow our streets! Our taxes are too high for them not to get plowed!

I have gotten stuck more times then I can count even a day after a snow emergency has been declared! I have lived in lots of areas within the twin cities and have found that Saint Paul literally has the WORSE streets I have ever seen. Even Minneapolis which is a much bigger city does a better job.

Please spread the word that St. Paul starts removing snow on our streets, especially since we pay for it.

Please us help when it snows

It’s the day the city makes money I don’t understand why the city don’t hire more people to go out and ticket AND tow the dumb cars who ALWAYS park on the street when it’s plow day!

Not sure if my first signing went thru. I'd like to see sand boxes on strategic street corners where local residents can throw sand on the street.

My side street is a mess ... I’ve and snow have been horrible. We need sand, plowing, and tickets for the people that don’t shovel around their dumpsters or move cars.

Another issue I have there is not enough affordable housing in St Paul. It would be great to see 1 bedroom apartments under $750 a month.

I’ve had to miss work because alleys and side streets have been impassible.

I was so pleased with the last plow on my street. Imagine if most people could be pleased and happy with the city doing what they're supposed to be doing to make our streets clear and safe. We can all go about our days without the current issue we have on St. Paul streets. I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood that has driveways and I bet it sucks for those that rely on the streets for parking, to have to move their cars and deal with all that hassle of... what? Of allowing the city to do their job so that the streets can be clear and safe for everyone after the snow falls? So that school buses can freely get through our streets and pick our children up for school in a timely fashion? So that everyone doesn't have to deal with the extra stress of trying to get themselves out from the accumulated snow in the streets? Honestly, I have a truck that allows me to drive safely through the streets (so far), I drive my kids to school, and I have a great group of people that shovel my driveway and sidewalks, but even I am beginning to feel the struggles and anxiety of my community. And, I have not yet to complain about having to shovel my own driveway or shovel the snow that the city clears back onto my driveway. That is my life. I understand it and I deal with it. I shovel my driveway while others have to move their car. No problem. We, as a community, NEED to come up with a better solution. Surveying my neighborhood, I've found people "...don't care because the city isn't going to enforce the rules and ticket my car..." It is true at times, and I wish it weren't! I'm seeing renters (who probably aren't concerned about property taxes) leave their cars on the streets: TWO snow emergencies in a row! There are cars still sitting in my neighborhood with tickets—yes, tickets, plural—AND it still hasn’t been towed? St. Paul citizens and others driving within the area have to struggle, have unnecessary anxiety, and create tension with one another over narrow, unsafe roads. Come

The city is stealing money left and right. Between unaffordable housing, lack of city upkeep on plowing/road maintentance & trash contract rip-offs, I HATE living here. I tell everyone to NEVER live here.

The city can and needs to do better.
