A zebra crossing or half way island essential here.

We are waiting far to long for a pedestrian to go in on this very busy part of Ruakura Road

I used to cycle to work and use this entrance but decided it was too dangerous. Becasue the entrance is on a bend in the road, cars naturally cut the corner and cross into the cycle lane.

The emtrance is "life-threatening" for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

Many of our students walk or cycle to school and are at risk all of the time. I support this 100%.

great idea. An pedestrian/cycle overpass across Ruakura Road would be agreat solution

As well as a safe pedestian crossing at the Ruakura entrance, the cycle lane along Ruakura Road eastbound needs improvement. This must be one of the must cycled stretches of road in Hamilton, but the shoulder of the road is not adequate for cycling or walking on.

this is a real need for safety as we work with a group of young adults based at innovation park who currently catch the bus to peachgrove road then walk to the otherside of innovation park so that they can safety use the underpass. Having a crossing on ruakura road who stop the risk that some people currently take and run across infront of traffic, i have seen several near misses.

A very dangerous crossing, I go out of my way to avoid it.

I have changed my bike route due to the difficulty in crossing this road. I also walk occasionally and find crossing extremely difficult.

I used to come by bike, and it was very unsafe to enter the campus. After we've moved out of town, I now come by car, and still feel sorry for the bikes and pedestrians entering the campus, especially after the horrible accident when the young boy died. I urge to take action, in my opinion it should have been done 3 years ago...

I walk to work this route from Silverdale and know it is dangerous for both pedestrians and cyclists to cross Ruakura Rd near the campus entrance. Mike King has been in consultation with HCC who are apparently awaiting clearance for their plans from their own Road Safety engineers and TransitNZ engineers

A crossing should be placed on the Peachgrove road side of the entrance and not onthe Knighton road side.

I think (I probably need to double check) that when the poor boy died while crossing a couple of years ago, council lowered the speed limit to 60, but that doesn't stop motorist going 70 or 80.

You state in your petition "high speed limit of 60 kmph" when it is 80 kmph.
