Safe Pedestrian Access into the Ruakura Campus from Ruakura Road

would be safe for pedestrians and drivers both

I always cycle or walk to work and really hate this junction, feeling very vulnerable and unsafe.

Sorely in need of better access, what's it going to take another death/serious injury. Its like taking your life in your hands trying to get across Ruakura Road.

I bike in to Ruakura ever day and have to cross Ruakura road.....to get into the Ruakura Research Centre and its becoming a nightmare. 530pm traffic is even worse....weaving in and out of lanes to get across. Unless something is done very soon we are going to see another fatal accident. Thank you so much for starting up this petition

Very unsafe road and needs urgent attention for pedestrian access to Ruakura campus

It is a very unsafe place to cross Ruakura Road by pedestrians. A young boy was killed there a few years ago. Another tragedy is waiting to happen.

Only a 15 minute walk to uni but I'd rather not for fear of the traffic.

Having safe pedestrian/cycling access is long overdue. It needs to happen now!

If you are on a bike going west, it is safer to ride well away from the intersection on the 'wrong' side of the road, until the road is clear. I figure it doesn't matter which direction you are going in the cycle lane w.r.t cars and only a problem if another cycle is coming your way.

this is an extremely dangerous site and in desperate need of such a pedestrian crossing. Let's avoid another unnecessary fatality!

I cross this road every day and it is not safe - car drivers are focused on the cars in front and don't notice people trying to cross the road.

I watched a person scuttle accross the road - really dangerous

I also tried to get the council to at lead paint a zebra crossing after a student working here got knocked off his bike. They eventually stopped responding after saying that the new link would sort it out
