Safe Pedestrian Access into the Ruakura Campus from Ruakura Road

Very dangerous entrance/exit. Many Hillcrest staff could walk or cycle to the campus, but don't dare. A carefully thought-out upgrade is vital, & design should involve all interested parties.

Would walk to work if theres a safe crossing

I walked and biked to Ruakura for 3.5 years and found crossing Ruakura Road very difficult and dangerous. I still visit Ruakura regularly.

Don't wait for more lives to be ruined/lost!

I fully support a safe entrance for pedestrian and cycles

I am in support of measures to improve pedestrian and cycle safety at this crossing point off Ruakura Road.

Safe car ingress / egress should also be included. Turning right in or out of the park is perilous at peak times

An underpass is required or a footpath on the Ruakura Campus side of the road between the Ruakura Campus and the Knighton Road/Ruakura Road roundabout

improved footpath and crossing for both pedestrians and cyclist would benefit both

I use this route to go to the university and would appreciate a safer crossing, sooner rather than later.

I support some way to make this crossing safer. I use it both as a pedestrian and cyclist. I don't think improvements on this corner should be delayed any longer.

I walk to work via this entrance and it's dangerous trying to get cars to stop especially in 5 oclock traffic and avoiding cyclists in the cycle lane as you leap across.

I run from Ruakura campus towards the university occasionally in my lunchtime, and always have difficulty crossing the road.

I normally drive into work, but when I go out for lunch time runs I do cross Rukaura road which can be a perilous task! Traffic is very busy these days now that Wairere Drv is open.

I go up and down Ruakura Road every time I go to town from Eureka. Since Wairere drive was connected to it the traffic has grown

A safe crossing would vastly improve access for pedestrians and cyclists to not only the Ruakura campus but also the university. Ruakura Rd is the main access to the university for people travelling from the west side of Hamilton

It would be wonderful to have this entrance way made safer for pedestrians and bikers.

The danger of access to and from Ruakura Campus and Waikato Innivation Park has been a long standing issue for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. The recent fatal accident involving a pedestrian underscores the critical importance of making this intersection safer as soon as possible. A solution cannot wait for longer term plans.
