this development is long overdue- for both pedestrians and cyclists

There has already been one fatality of a young boy crossing this dangerous road. Car accidents - mainly nose to tails are frequent - showing the volume of traffic and inattention of drivers. To turn right out of the campus can be very tricky........which means it would be even more dangerous for pedestrians who tend to cross in two halves. A pedestrian crossing is a no brainer

I have witnessed one accident on this road and I am sure there have been many more. One life lost is one too many so make the road safe. Seems like a no brainer to me.

my daughter and many of her friends and peers attend the ENRICH + day-base for the disabled. I have long felt concerned for my daughters safety when she attends as she uses a walker as do others who use the service i pray that the council thinks carefully as they work through the issues at Ruakura and around the homestead.

There is a real need to ensure safe pedestrian access into the campus from Ruakura Rd y of all people, and especially those with special needs.

Access into Ruakura campus from Ruakura Road causes huge anxiety for the individuals we support and the parents. Parents continue to raise this concern and the incident of the child that was hit on the road some time ago.

I currently bike through Ruakura to go to work in Hillcrest, it is a nightmare along that road, would definitely like a safe crossing and off road cycle path.

This road gets incredibly busy before and after school as people consider it a quicker route. Although this road may seem safe for drivers it is not safe at all for pedestrians eg. Those walking to school or cycling

Given the numbers of pedestrians and cyclists a crossing is critical to save lives and save people from injuries. More people would walk or cycle if their safety was improved.

This is an excellent idea, and should have been implemented a long time ago.
