Safe Pedestrian Access into the Ruakura Campus from Ruakura Road

lower the speed ,silverdale rd near the shops and pedestrian crossing is extremly dangerous as well almost every dAy there are near misses and with a lot of school childern and elderly useing this crossing i is of the utmost importance to cover this area as well .thanks

my daughter works in the campus and I wont let her bike as it is always very busy and fast and hard to cross the road.

It's vitally important that the road be safe for users other than car and truck drivers. There was a pedestrian fatality on the road in recent years and increased traffic from the Wairere drive development only increases risks to pedestrians and cyclists.

Agreed. Its almost impossible to cross the road at peak hours

Every day safe access is not available is a public safety risk.

Bikes and pedestrians must be accomodated it is horrendous trying to cross by the Uni.

At certain times of the day, the sun shines directly into the eyes of the driver making it extremely difficult to spot other vehilces much less bicycles and pedestrians. Some separations should be effected before someone gets seriously injured or worse.

Re the safety of Ruakura Road at the Ruakura Research Centre/Innovation Park intersection, as many Hillcrest High School students and families use this road.

Would love to see a pedestrian entrance- our boys use the squash club facilities and getting to and from here means taking them in a car is the ONLY safe method of transport. Despite the fact we live within easy walking distance.

There needs to be some accommodation for pedestrians and certainly safe areas for them to walk along and cross

My children bike this way to Hillcrest High School, the Ruakura road entrance is the most dangerous section that they have to negotiate twice daily.

I wouldl like to suggest and overbridge or underbridge as a crossing - we have them at Waiweri Dr to service the same ring road traffic/dedestrian flow. I was present at the time the Mother of the young girl who was knocked over and disabed at the Morrinsville Rd crossing a number of years ago was told of the accident and the screams and sobs she let our when she was told of the accident still haunt me. No parent should ever have to get that news. Please Please Please make the right choices here and ensure to include a very safe crossing for our students yound and old. Thanks Cass

From experience as a user of the road and a witness to an accident some years back, I totally support this submission. It has been good to see a similar situation with the roundabout on Knighton Road where there is a pedestrian crossing where our neighborhood children have to cross, the reconstruction of this has enabled a safety for flowing traffic turning and for those uses as pedestrians of that area. With Ruakura, many cars that are coming off the Ruakura Road from Morrinsville Road are still travelling at a speed that can hamper decisions.

I drive past this intersection every morning and evening of the work week and have seen many near misses of cars.(it's a regular occurrence.) It has only gotten worse since the opening of Wairere drive A traffic signal would assist.

A safe crossing on Ruakura road is a must, steps should be taken to make this dangerous entrance safe for all. I have witnessed all sort of crazy antics at this entrance over the years,
