parents and residents can only do so much - recent road works in the area have impacted greatly on the availability of parking and comprised safe walking routes

I am 100% in support of safe parking and drop off @ Lucan Educate Together National School.
As a parent and a teacher I respectfully request the South County Council to provide us with the field adjacent to the school for the critical purpose of ensuring the paramount safety of our children in the parking and dropping off and collecting our children asap. At present there is no alternative. Drop off and pick up hazard..
We need to act now before we have a tragedy. We have had near fatal accidents on an ongoing basis.

Thank you to the parents and individuals involved in trying to remedy this problem. However a stronger stand needs to be taken as this is becoming increasingly frustrating for all parties concerned. Let's hope for an amicable outcome and long term solution that suits everyone involved.

Action needs to be taken now before its too late - we're talking about the safety of primary school children here! Its not fair on the local residents, its not fair on the parents dropping their small children, and its putting children's lives at risk.

Chaotic, in the mornings particularly. I have seen irate residents angrily driving riskily where children are crossing ie safety of children an issue. Unpleasant exchanges between adults around children... Something needs to change

Parking arrangements at school are sub-standard, not enough spaces for volume of traffic.

The problem has existed ever since the school was built.Imagine having strangers parking outside your house twice a day every weekday for 10 years!! SDCC has always avoides resolving this issue. When the gap was open, Bewley estate was used as a passage to Willsbrook Park.We had antisocial behaviour such as egg throwing, underage drinking and teenage improptu mass gatherings with ghettoblasters on our main green. On top of all this even members of the B.O.M parked in the cul-de-sac sometimes for the whole day to avoid parking in the schools staff parking.I still think the children if LETS are our priority, so please continue lobbying local politicians of SDCC until they listen and act.

Something major needs to be done in order to facilitate the safety of all children commuting to and from school - the congestion has only got worse with the extra building work that has taken place - the land adjacent to the school would solve this issue and potentially save a child from a serious accident. It's time to put some money into these safety measures now that all the roundabouts have been expanded at massive cost!

Badly needed. I'm an after school facility and it's one of the worst schools for parking and collecting children

Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for taking the time to sign and comment - it's very much appreciated... all your points are valid, and please know that most parents involved with the school share your concerns. We are working so hard to ensure that a permanent solution is found, and the more residents that get involved with us the better! We are proposing to hold a meeting in the very near future - just tying up some of the details, but will be confirming as soon as possible. In the meantime, we appreciate any and all support we can get - and we share the frustrations of residents as we are too aware that the situation is now critical... Please get involved by echoing your concerns to your local representatives - they are all aware of the situation, and are working with us to build solutions. If you have any suggestions or ideas, I'd love to hear from you ... thank you again!

Very unsafe for children with no safe drop off point and unsafe parking and driving around school. Need action before a child is injured!!
