As a resident I would love to see something done about this school parking. It's rediculous at morning or evening drop off trying to get out of Mountbellew estate. It will take a bad accident or an ambulance or fire engine not being able to get into our estate during these times. Then something will be done. Also double yellow lines were put in on one corner and cars are still parking on the corners. It is illegal to park on any corner anywhere according to the rules of the road and the attitude of people is I'LL ONLY BE 5 MINUTES it doesn't matter. This has to stop. The apartments are private residences and should be respected by people dropping off and picking up. I never understood why the way through from Beweley estate was blocked off the residents still walk up and climb over the fence into Mountbellew making a track across our field they were the ones that kicked up and demanded it closed at the school. Theres2 pieces of land there that should be used for parking or as a turning/ drop off area beside the school and a green area beside the appartments this could be a turning circle instead of the one that's there that no one checks to see if Theres a car coming to go around the corner and not turning. That turning circle is also very dangerous. There is a lot more I could say but I'd be here all night. I hope something can put pressure on SDCC to spend some money fixing up this area sooner rather than later. These works could all be done over the summer months now. Could a big meeting not be called in the school between parents and residents of the area and councillors and advertise when it's on.

I urge the council to offer the free land beside the school for parking/drop off point for children. It is chaotic around there with insufficient parking, additional parking must be provided and soon before a serious incident takes place. I have seen a couple of near misses and heard about quiet a few more in the 5 years going to the school!! We are talking about children and their safety this must be a priority for all within authority to act on.

This school's been in need of adequate parking and drop off zone for kids for years now, in fact since it was built, but nothing has been done so far. SDCC pumped so much money into rearrangement of the adjacent roads and roundabout, which made traffic even worse and not even a bit safer. Not all kids live in the close vicinity to the school and thus would be able to walk. So something has to be done to accommodate their needs as well. Why complaints of Bewleys residents are important, but safety of our kids is not? Parents do not have a choice as to park along the road in the nearest estate, but residents still complain, the roads are not residents’ private roads and parking spaces in front of the duplexes are not designate. There is the land next to school which can be used for parking that will accommodate both local resident’s needs and parents, who have to drive to school.

Parking has always been an issue around the school but has worsened since the council closed pedestrian access to the estate beside the school, forcing more traffic into one area, and provided no relief measures. Will be even worse when apartments being built (approved by the Council!) have residents in them. School is being blamed unfairly for a situation created by the Council.

There is a need for adequate, safe parking/drop off facilities for children accessing the school. At present there is dangerous parking/driving practices which will result in an accident. Frustration levels of both residents and parents at peak times is causing a great deal of unhappiness and antagonistic behaviour. A solution from SDCC is now of paramount importance as this has been a problem for many years and has now been compounded due to road changes and an the erection of a fence at Bewley. A successful conclusion will benefit all.

It would be great if some of the land adjacent to the school could be developed for a drop off zone for LETNS. At the moment we, the residents of Bewley estate, are still faced with people parking in front of our houses from a very early morning, infringing on our privacy and space.

Having moved to Maynooth from Lucan the issue of parking has become more urgent. No longer can we walk to school as we did in previous years. It's a shame more apartments have occupied an already crowded area and leave school parents little option when it comes to parking. LETS is a great school and this trouble with parking causes continued problems and added stress each morning .

A proper drop off zone for older children would ease morning parking and traffic significantly. Would love to see better turning circle.

I wish that the SDCC would be proactive for once in ensuring the safety of children attending school, rather than waiting for a petition , or worse an accident to happen.

Something needs to be done regarding the school parking..There is not enough parking space. With the access via the nearby estates closed, everyone has to park near the school and there is not enough parking space
