Sacramento Field Off-Leash Hours Pilot Program

As a daily user of the off-leash shared park at Gore Street in East Cambridge, I have heard for years of the need for residents around the Sacramento Park area to have the same off-leash access. I urge the city to take this request seriously. Shared, off-leash dog spaces do increase community stewardship and create lasting care amongst neighbors.

We have two small children, a dog, and live one block from the park - our family supports the off-leash dog park hours. We would welcome a place, within walking distance, to let our friendly golden retriever run off-leash - otherwise we have to get in our car and drive to a dog-friendly park, thus increasing our carbon footprint.

I agree that this would be a wonderful opportunity for dogs and neighbors to socialize and build community!

It is a very good social experience for people and for dogs to have a place to go where dogs have a chance to exercise . And people in this setting monitor each other about picking up after their dogs. Win-win.

I agree with this petition because it gives dogs exercise and lets them bond with other dogs. It also helps strengthen community by fostering friendly relationships between dog owners

Our dog Lucy and her owners would love this, especially as the Divinity School construction will disrupt our favorite walking route.

I whole -heartedly support off leash hours in the morning - to provide the neighborhood with a place to exercise dogs in a safe, responsible manner -and a place to meet friends old & new! It has worked well at Raymond Playground- our neighborhood would be grateful for a closer spot like sacramanto Field.

I drive to Fresh Pond every day - or to another shared use park. If allowed to use my neighborhood park ; this would lower my carbon footprint.

Having an enclosed place near my home where my dog can run and play is a huge boon for my neighborhood experience. I also like that it means I don't have to drive to Danehy, burning fossil fuels in the process. And I appreciate the potential for neighborly connections.

I would like there to be time for dogs to use Sacramento Field off-leash. It's a great way for neighbors to connect with each other.

Dogs need aerobic exercise in a safe (fenced) area. Sacramento Field is,perfect.

Great way to build neighborhood rapport. I regularly walk my dogs in the park and the fact is most kids ask their parents and then love the opportunity to pet and hug.

The off-leash program has been very successful at Raymond Park and would be wonderful for Sacramento Field.

Although I do not have a pet dog I support reasonable use by my neighbors and their pets.
