It seems there are no grounds for that out of proportion sanction. Not even in Mexico we experience on Academia such harasment and faculty is free ti disent from managment.
Using a "private account" and " advising students ..." are not only childly but gestapolike reason to fire such a Scientist who I has the priviliege to Know at finland in 2008.

The announced reasons for firing a geophysicist with a superb international reputation for career contributions are shockingly trivial.

I urge the University of Copenhagen to reconsider its position and to respect the basic academic rules.

I am signing this document because Professor Thybo is a man of great integrity, who would never act in any manner that would be deemed suitable for dismissal. This dismissal should be revoked immediately.

I am appalled to see that Hans Thybo has been sacked for such trivial-sounding reasons. He has had a meteoric career and must be (or have been) one of the most prestigious employees of Copenhagen University. I trust the University will reconsider its decision.

I had perfect cooperations with Hans Thybo within several large international projects. I got to know him as an excellent scientist and an always correct and friendly colleague.

The given seem minor and in no way a reason to get fired.

I cannot understand that a well-respected professor as Hans Thybo is fired for reasons given as:
advice to a postdoc to answer a university questionnaire honestly and as a subsidiary reason, his use of his private email for work-related issues.

not acceptable for such minor reasons.
bad for science, bad for an open society and democracy.
Hopefully, a solution can be found soon.

Kindly note that this address is my professional one.
A colleague who is contributing to the development of science at the highest standards can't be sacked for the reasons evocated and should be reintegrated to his position. I really don't understand how an university can cut a branch that is still giving so many fruits...

These do not seem acceptable reasons for disimissal.

This man is of the highest ethical standard I know. He should not be sacked for trivial offences such as these

I am astonished that someone as productive and well-respected as Hans Thybo, who has long held a leadership role in European Earth Sciences, could have been dismissed for such apparently trivial reasons.

I find the reasons for dismissal trivial and need to know the real reason if there is one!
