The San Antonio government is displaying disappointing behavior. We have, indeed, chosen to live outside the city limits. Annexation is nothing more than an attempt to grab more taxes for a city that we choose not to live in.

This is a strategically targeted annexation designed only to increase city revenues. Nearly all properties being annexed are gaited communities meaning no additional cost to the city and no benefit to those being annexed and taxed.

Annexation without community consent is a local government practice that should be abolished. Big city expansion is politically motivated, not community service motivated. Why not use a carrot, rather than a stick to grow your city? How about compete with county and other outsource-able services, such as fire and police?
