As I cyclist I risk my life everyday, the council seem to have done nothing b to b improve the cycling situation from Bristol to North Bristol/Filton despite it being a common commuting route. Better cycling paths would encourage more people to cycle and ease congestion on this overly congested route. For me this is something that the green capital did not address and something that must be fixed.

I find that it's also attitudes which need to change and the issue with drivers is their lack of awareness. I've been cut off very suddenly by drivers who don't indicate and had drivers who pass by dangerously close. I've also been on the receiving end of some very aggressive behaviour.

The cycle lanes also need to be clear, I can't understand why the lane being built on the centre and next to the Arena site, look like pavements, this is so confusing to pedestrians. They should all be made of red tarmac, with a curb stones to protect from car drivers, no more comedy painted lines on roads!

I love cycling in Bristol, but I'm a confident cyclist and would love for many more people to feel safe and happy cycling around this city. Which in turn will make for a safer and happier city - what's not to like?

We desperately need a cycle path on Whiteladies Road leading from the Downs into the City. This must be the most dangerous road in the city for cyclists.

I love cycling but there is a real problem with dangerous overtaking than needs solving with proper infrastructure.

Time to get the detail right, connecting up and clarifying routes - for pedestrians and drivers as well as cyclists!

Huge improvements need to be made for the bike to be a normal form of transport for the average person.

Particularly keen to see the Downs become cycle-friendly. The current "no cycling" attitude is an anachronism.

Cycle paths are improving but the right of way situation on pavements needs improving. You need nerves if steel to cycle these days. And greater penalties for aggressive motor drivers. They're a law unto themselves.

Better cycling infrastructure is necessary to enable people to live in Bristol and surrounding areas without being dependant on motor vehicles.

People will only switch to Cycling if its seen as a safe attractive option. We need better road traffic law enforcement & priority to cyclists at road junctions.

Having moved from the Swindon area to Bristol 15 months ago I can tell you that the Bristol to Bath cycle path is one of the most fabulous assets the Bristol has . But this unique route is not replicated around the city- I cycle to work - I cycle everywhere and we have recently bought electric bikes to make it easier . Please create an integrated cycle route network for all of Bristol with the same urgency that you're planning extra bus routes. it is actually quite dangerous cycling in parts of Bristol - the standard of driving here is sometimes frightening and it is enough to put off my wife from cycling anything much further than very safe cycle path's . You have goodwill in the city towards cyclists by most of the population and I think this will be a very popular thing to do .

Cycling in the city is a scary experience for many people and we need to make it much safer.

Yes, I'm fed up with congestion, pollution and getting squashed by cars on the road. I want a cleaner, healthier, happier planet to live in. Having safer cycling options in Bristol will help make this happen.
