Bristol is so unsafe for cyclists

We need to convert drivers into cyclists to make traveling safer, healthier, and less polluting. It's a no brainer for a civilised society.

I fully support this campaign. Better safer road infrastructure would definitely encourage more people to cycle as an alternative to driving.

This would help prevent people cycling on pavements, which is dangerous and as a keen cyclist I never do.

I cycle, but not as frequently as I'd like to and that's all down to the levels of safely on bristols roads, which in the main are low. often there is no room or consideration for me as a cyclist and as a mother, I just have too much to lose if an accident should occur. I live in Cotham and work on bedminster down and the last stretch of the journey is treturous everyday. The level of congestion in this part of Bristol is awful. And must be managed.

All candidates need to show that they are serious about making Bristol a cycling city. Warm words are just hot air.

Let's make it an attractive choice of transport for everyone by making it safe for everyone. Invest now and reap the rewards for generations.

Bristol is suppost to be a cycling city lets get the lanes in to confirm that not bits just here & there. Also when you really need one you get nothing?

Too many cars and too many bad drivers, who aren't patient towards cyclist. We, (cyclists) need more space in Bristol.

20mph and traffic reduction alone will not get real congestion-busting numbers of people on their bikes. Safe and segregated facilities need to be provided too.

All will benefit if more journeys are taken from bikes rather than cars. Safer cycling means more cyclists ,less cars, better place to live.

Cycling has so many benefits why is more not being done, it could even help save the NHS by increasing everyone health.

Bristol has made huge steps forward in recent years but there's still a long way to go.

More bike stands - more cycle lanes - close some minor roads to through traffic to create safer cycle routes - cyclist will take a longer route if it is safer and more pleasant.

Cycling is fun but it could be so much better if politicians listened to what cyclists want and act on it.

It's necessary to make the city more functional, safer and green.

Investment in high quality well thought out infrastructure for all cyclists is needed urgently. All the evidence points towards the many benefits this will bring from reducing traffic and pollution to enhancing health and well being. Why wait?
