we have a few good ones but need more, as a line painted down the side of the road is no good for anything.

What a great, clear campaign. Totally behind it, as a cycling commuter and as a mum, with kids who I struggled to find safe places to learn to bike ride with.

Absolutely! (but there are also a LOT of bikers who give the rest of us cyclists a bad name by a) inconsideration towards pedestrians and other cyclists and b) refusal to have lights at night)

In addition to the obvious cycle-focused improvements needed, enforce the law - penalise parking in cycle lanes, encroachment into cycle areas at traffic lights and blocking box junctions.

Proper dedicated cycle lanes that do not share the road with cars or pedestrians are needed.

Encourage more cyclists by making it safer to ride to work. Will help the environment and fitness too!

Safer to me means not only creating physical spaces, but also changing attitudes of all our road users (inc cyclists).

I regularly use the Concorde Way out to Parkway - such a pleasure, and great to see so many people using it - good cycle routes really make a difference.

If Holland can do it, so can Bristol.

My kids want to ride to school and to their mates' houses. I want them to ride. Take the fear out of our communities and make our roads safe.

Improvements badly needed

Dedicated cycle lanes rather than shared use please. Contraflow cycle lanes are hazardous as cars often ignore them or simply do not expect a cyclist to be travelling the wrong way on one-way street.

Not only do we need proper cycle Lanes which are convenient for cyclists and not for cars but we need education to motorists about cycling and encourage them to thank cyclists for not killing them with pollution and how quiet and peaceful and less congested it would be if more folk cycled.

There needs to be more segregated cycle lanes, and clearer marking of the existing ones, for example the one on the Pavement in Nelson Street has very poor signage
