Because Rutgers did not inform her with adequate time to adjust her living, I believe she should be reinstated, or Rutgers pay for her living and travel expenses.

This is unacceptable. Rutgers need to reinstate Dr Alamgir. It would be a great woe otherwise! We need to treat our residents better and sponsor her H1B if necessary! The fact that she was not told to get a J 1 visa is unacceptable as it takes at least 6 months to get all the paperwork through for a government sponsored J1 visa. As residents we’ve worked hard for al the credentials to get matched, and the fact that Rutgers would cancel her contract a day prior to orientation is unthinkable and the only right way to resolve this is t reinstate her

She must get what she deserves rather than being kicked out for no reason.

This is a persons life we’re talking about... and now Rutgers has left her unemployed, with an apartment to pay for, in a new place, and without opportunity to find a new residency because of the way we match (she can’t just go interview for a new spot).... and now we are saying you aren’t valuable to the Rutgers community because you have the wrong Visa??? I don’t know enough about visas but I bet that the reason this visa isn’t sponsored and the other is - is that this will cost the university more money... which is a sad statement about priorities.

Breaching a contract right before a start date is heartbreaking for an applicant. Unprofessional and unethical behaviour.

Maybe Rutgers can get away with this a few times, but this is the sort of behaviour that corrodes an institution from the inside.

By accepting this physician as a resident, Rutgers is responsible to go above and beyond to welcome and accommodate her visa requirements. Rutgers is tarnishing their reputation.

This is not only unprofessional and unfair, is also discourages many brilliant international applicants to apply for Rutgers' residency programs.

Totally unprofessional , unethical from Rutgers. They totally lost their credibility with breach of contract.

This is unacceptable. Rutgers carries a greater name and purpose than to rescind an employment contract just before the resident’s scheduled start date.
