Rushall says NO to cemetery in Winterley Lane

This is completely unaceptable , Winterly lane is too narrow to cope with the volume of traffic a cemetery would produce .A once beautiful country lane has been ruined. This must not be allowed to go ahead .

I drive through this lane daily, its difficult enough with it being such a narrow lane, surely a burial ground should be developed in more open inviting space. Winterley Lane is a flytipping hazard area. Would you wish to drive through such a lane leading a loved one to their permanent resting place? I wouldn't want to

This must have health and safety implications with the fluids from decomposing corpses. This must NOT be allowed in a residential area at all.

Absolutely ridiculous idea, can't be legal

We don't want a cemetery in Rushall and especially on ground that was supposed to be returned to its original state after work had been carried out.

This is not a viable site, there is a bridge with weight restriction, no foot paths or car park, the lorries that have used the lane for supposed work being done have damaged the lane surface.

The land must be returned to natural greenbelt and left so in the future. There is no guarantee that when the infill works are complete that future collapse will not occur. The whole area is riddled with lime stone caverns

Shocking idea. The Lane itself is narrow & the Canal Bridge weak. There is a limestone cavern below Daw End the size of the San Siro stadium which fills with water. Walsall Council Lost the Lottery Grant allocated to infill the Limstone mines through gambling the cash on an Icelandic Bank paying 11% that subsequently collapsed. The result of there failure to redress the mines resulted in the partial collapse of the road Bosty Lane a few years later. The Geology of the Area is rife with problems. Who in there right mind would consider dumping decomposing bodies into the mix?

Ridiculous, I was quite shocked to hear this. Besides the mess that had been left behind by whoever has been using the site as a rubbish tip ,the lane is narrow, and I don't want a graveyard that close to where I live. Sounds like a money spinner deal to me. There obviously isn't enough money in the pot and Someone has cooked up this plan to pass the book.

This circus has been going on for over four years and rules have been broken with ref to the filling in of shafts. Also no one in the council or the company have declared what the site is contaminated with or the risks to the water table, wildlife and humans. It must be returned to meadow land as it was promised and nothing else will do.

I totally disagree with the plans for a cemetery. It will bring congestion, pollution and further destroy the lane and beautiful countryside around the area. The company should return the land back to grazing as originally promised.

Wasn't this land supposed to be returned to green belt?

This site is totally unsuitable ,they have destroyed a once beautiful lane in Rushall .

Put the land back to green belt like it should have been last year.

Theres old lime workings . lowline water. Subsided area . breaking into old coal workings all this is well known tto the history of coal miners who until youv done the job will know as my husband was a miner same as his dad and all his uncles .so we know its not suitable for a resting place for peoples loved ones as which ever company wants to do this place as a cemetry get your priority right tell people the truth about the land and would you put your loved ones there NO you wouldnt

The road is unsuitable for the amount of traffic that a cemetery would generate. Also, the original agreed plans were that the area be returned to Green Belt.
