We work hard, devote a large chunk of our lives to this job because we love it. we don't ask for much, but please give us a wage we can live on and support our families with.

If we don't get the respect from the public at least we should get appropriate respect from our employers.

being a former employee, I know the struggles of these hard working individuals! SUPPORT THEM! GET THEM FAIR WAGES! Long days making barely enough to support themselves let alone families.... the time for change is now!

Rural Metro is as greedy a corporation as they come. The general manager himself has made it clear that he would rather have a high turnover rate than seasoned employees as it ultimately costs him much less. If fast food workers can demand livable wages then it only seems fair that those who come to our aid during our worst hour should be able to make ends meet and support their families as well. A 10 year former employee I can also tell you firsthand that no one gets shit on harder or more consistently than Rural Metro Rochester employees, being held over hours every day, mandated shifts and Supervisors who play favorites and treat the facility and the company like their own personal playground result in a work environment deserving of better recognition, pay and benefits.

If we don't take care of the ones who can save us, how do we expect them to take care of us?

We work very long hours, in all weather conditions, at all times of the day. We deal with potentially being vomited on, urinated on, some people are verbally abusive, combative and violent patients attempt to assault us. Often times, we are so busy, we do not even get a chance for a meal (no breaks in this business)... We deserve a fair and livable wage and benefits for all the abuse we take and sacrifice we make.

a fair wage with protection from bullying and targeting is not to much to ask for. I only want to be able to afford to go home each day to a family I can support without having to work 2 jobs or 80 hours a week.

They aren't ambulance drivers. They are professionally trained providers who can administer live saving interventions when you need it most. Don't you want the best staff on hand? Keep them thriving.
