Over this past year I have had to sit out 3 races due to different injuries occurring just weeks before the races, all outside of the window for transfers or deferrals with some races not even allowing that option. This puts me in a tough spot to either sell my bib illegally or sit out of these races wasting hundreds of dollars, adding insult to injury (literally) as I was already depressed I could not participate in these races but now spending all of this money without anything to show for it. I think this website is a GREAT idea and all races should allow these options for those of us who seem to be injury prone like myself so we are no longer scared to sign up for races in fear of wasting money and getting hurt once again.

This option is long overdue.
I suspect that race directors don't want to do this because they do the same as airlines... over book. They have a good idea how many are not going to show come race day and therefore they don't need to provide service/food/medals/tshirts etc. Given that everything is done by computer AND... a third party like this is willing to do it speaks volumes!
IMHO don't stop at just running races. Include triathlons, bike racing etc.
Good luck to you on this much needed service.

Bibs should be transferable to other people or otherwise refundable, in the event a runner cannot run in the event!

I've had to miss races for various reasons. Would have loved to give or donate the bib.

No reason not to do this by a certain date before the event.

life gets in the way- and this would be a great alternative for both sides of the bib.

Wonderful, smart concept....valuable service. Race directors would get more repeat registrations if they embrace it. Earned Runs supports frequent competition and BibSwitch enables it!
Thanks for taking this challenge.

This is a great idea. I had to bow out of a few races the past year. I survived a stroke and had to learn to walk again. It would have been helpful to have gotten a refund from the races I missed.

This is a great idea! I had surgery a few months ago and had to miss 3 races...only 1 let me defer to next year, the other 2 just said "sorry, we have a no refund, no transfer policy"
