Ruby Mountain re-zoning could allow for commercial development

I oppose developing the Ruby Mountains into a commercial development

I want the mountains to stay natural.

We do not want this. We love the Rubies and don't want to see such beauty be destroyed just for a ski resort. Do not build.

We don’t need to commercialize every wild place. Nevada is amazing because it is not California or colorado. Keep it wild and free!

As a teen I hiked and camped in the Ruby Mountains with my older brother. Don't destroy the peacefulness of this Nevada treasure. There is plenty of ski resorts and other land to develop elsewhere.

As a resident of Spring Creek, NV ... specifically the Horse Palace Area... I oppose these plans for development in our area. Though me and my family love enjoying the outdoors, there are far too many issues with trying to develop land here for this type of use. It additionally will ruin the whole reason the majority of the people not only live in Spring Creek area, but also visit it. This San Francisco Tech Millionaire is more than welcome to build a home for himself and enjoy the nature around it. There is no need to ruin the nature here and then monetize it to try to turn Spring Creek into an entertainment destination. It is already a destination for outdoor enthusiasts that enjoy actual nature. Not curated mountain biking trails, snow machines, ski lifts, and swanky ski cabins for rent or sale. His vision may be more fitting for Lake Tahoe. I hear a smaller Ski Resort there is for sale. He could perhaps sell this land here, and buy land in Tahoe that's already set up for what he likes.

As a lifelong skier from a family with roots in the West since the early Oregon Trail -- I know this proposal would be the nail in the coffin for the Ruby Mountains. Send them packing!

Spring Creek and Wlko cannot handle this type of change. From inadequate roads to road maintenance. We don't drive over Elko summit and say "gee, I wish those mountains were covered with houses and a ski lift"

Agree with everything mentioned plus do you think tourism will come with how hard and expensive it is to travel into Elko? Say you fly into SLC or Reno, most will go to Park City or Tahoe. I don’t believe it will generate that much to economy and besides can we just this once forget the money and keep things as they are?

Totally against this. Think of the Earth. We don’t need another tourist destination.

Aside from the ski resort, I’m largely concerned about the effect the “ski resort” type homes will have on our economy. The people who work ski resorts can’t afford to live in the towns they work in. Let’s not make this another Tahoe.

We don't need a ski resort on the beautiful ruby mountains. Make the sno bowl better if anything but leave lamoille alone.

Save the land

Please keep this land as is wild and beautiful for future generations to see and enjoy as it is now.
