Ruby Mountain re-zoning could allow for commercial development

Some years there won't be enough snowpack to support this. Where is the water going to come from? There is only one access to the area via the Lamoille Highway which is overwhelmed now. A secondary access needs to be built first and the water rights issues need to be addressed as this area is over allocated in that regard. I don't see how there is enough water for the people here now, plus the other subdivisions being planned and this resort.

The re-zoning and subsequent development of this parcel would diminish thousands of acres of wildlife habitat, including prime Mule Deer habitat (which is a species that is already struggling due to habitat loss).
If this parcel is re-zoned and developed, a large portion of the Ruby Mountain Viewscape (for residents and tourists) will be destroyed.
The increase in human traffic in the area and it's surroundings will also be detrimental to the landscape and wildlife.

Water cost us more than enough as it is. The less available the more expensive.

My wife and her family are from this pristine area, the proposed development, sounds problematic at least.
Areas like ‘‘this need to be kept natural,

Open space should remain open space! If there’s not enough water you should not build there!

I moved where I did because of the open land, not to have something commercial or houses behind. Very concerned about the water usage.

I oppose any rezoning that doesn’t conform to the Master plan of the Mountain parcel.

The reason we moved here was for the peaceful view of the majestic Rubies. We are struggling currently with heavy traffic our roads did not anticipate as well as schools that are filled to maximum with students and having to rely on trailers for classrooms and much needed updating for our school facilities and roads. We would also need more security in place, consideration for the current wildlife and open land we love so much. This would change our community greatly and we would have to anticipate that there would be more change to come. Certainly there are so many other things that should be considered such as water usage and how this future development would impact water and the Rubies that cannot be replaced or changed back to what it is currently. The traffic to our canyon would increase and our peaceful getaways to the canyon would forever change. There is no way around it if development takes over it won’t stop it will continue and Spring Creek and other areas here will never be the same.

We want to retain the beauty of Spring Creek along with our access to water that additional homes will impede. Our family is absolutely against big development in out area. We live right off Thistle Junction.
