If we let this happen we might as well say goodbye to the rest of the rubies as well.

We do not want the rubies ruined or damaged! There’s already so much risk with the avalanches, mudslides, and wildlife.

We purchased our retirement home in Spring Creek at the base of the Ruby Mountains for the peaceful, rural are it is currently. A ski resort would be detrimental to water, roads, traffic, crime, and would eventually bring hotels, restaurants, gas stations, etc to our rural community completely destroying the exact reason we moved here. Not to mention destroying the beauty of this mountain. We are on a fixed income and can’t afford the increase to our taxes that this would cause.

Many reasons but biggest one being the people of Elko cannot afford the rising costs as is a ski resort will just worsen that fact. And keep nature as it is!!!!!!

A RESOUNDING NO
I moved here in 1989 from Montana.
Look what has happened to the Big Sky and Bozeman area. People who are not residents full time have totally changed the area. Nonstop building of vacation homes. Raising median home prices and property taxes to outrageous prices. People who grew up in Bozeman having to leave because they can’t afford housing and property taxes. The economy turning into servicing the needs of wealthy individuals, and not being able to afford a home of their own.
We have an economy that people who work hard can have a great living here and afford homes. If this area turns into a service the rich area, that will go away.
I grew up with winter recreation and we have it here. The Snow Bowl is not big and fancy but it is the best for learning to ski.
The traffic will be nonstop to build and service this resort. I’ve seen it in Montana.
Don’t let Vacation homes and a Ski resort be what we look at on our Beloved Rubies.
Taking our precious water and ruining the quality of the Air shed here.

The Ruby Mountains are a majestic view for residence. With the addition of this developed parcel it will hinder the natural beauty of what we get to look off the deck and out the window and see.

Horrible idea to destroy the mountains and over populate this area with visitors which cannot maintain the year round residents as it is especially according to the price of water here
