I am writing in sincere opposition to the rezoning of land in the Ruby Mountains. The Ruby Mountains are a long-treasured Nevada masterpiece, and our Nevada residents must fight to keep the protected.

Stop destroying nature

Conserve nature. Please.

I say no to letting the damn Californians ruin our mountain!! Plus we already have the Snowbowl??

I am NOT in favor of this

I have serious infrastructure concerns that I would want answers to before any decisions should be made. Water, traffic, sewage.

I don’t agree with defacing our beautiful Ruby Mountains with ski lifts and other structures for a resort that will likely fail due to lack of interest. There is no way people from bigger cities will chose to drive 4+ hours to ski this possible resort when they have better options for skiing close to home.

I oppose all petitions for re-zoning the areas of Ruby Mountains.

Do not approve this development. We love to hike there because it is undeveloped. Protect it.

Please, please, please do not allow this horrible idea to become a reality. I am an avid skier and this is the last thing that’s right for Nevada.

Please vote AGAINST Zoning Change for the Ruby Mountains application 24-2000-0010.

Save the Ruby Mountains

Water is life even in the “high” desert. Taking millions upon millions of gallons of water to “create” snow will ruin this community eventually for the residents already here. I was looking at the mountains today from my quiet, serene, uncrowded back yard and I see a new black line across the mountain above the proposed ski resort area. Many proponents (owner) claim we won’t see anything. I am sick to my stomach over this. Once that water is sucked out of the ground at the top of an aquafer system it may refill in 2-5 years or 20-50. There is no way of knowing until the water is gone and it is too late.

As a Spring Creek resident for more than four decades, I am opposed to this proposal. The iconic, undeveloped beauty of the Ruby Mountains are what makes Spring Creek unique and a highly desirable place to live. Even more concerning is the ecological damage development would have on this fragile mountain environment. Road construction, soil disturbance, loss of vegetative cover and increased human activity would increase opportunities for landslides, wildfires and avalanches. Opportunities for reclamation are limited with the area's steep, granitic soils. The need to manufacture snow would also create adverse impacts in the form of changes in infiltration rates, excessive water usage, development of soil and plant damaging ice layers, noise pollution and disturbance to wildlife. Finally, development and associated high levels of human activity would greatly diminish the value of this important resident and migratory habitat for many species of wildlife including both game animals and species designated as having special status due to declining numbers.

Don't need a ski resort!!!

This area doesn't have the economy to hold a ski resort and that amount of tourism. Let the people enjoy their peace and quiet.
