We Feel that all 3 Air Transat bases (YYZ, YUL, YVR) needs a reserve committee. With this committee we will oversee the fairness regarding the distribution of flights given to reserve members and help eliminate favoritism. We will also improve the working conditions for our members who are on reserve. We would work on improving quality of life by finding ways where both the company, the Employee and the Union can benefit from. For example, adding a key on PBS where the cabin attendant can choose his guarantied day off, therefore avoiding book offs. Furthermore, we would like to work with Air Transat to improve e-crew, such as being able to see who will be next to be called. This could help eliminate no shows, personal emergencies and book offs. We do understand that we may not be able to change working conditions until the next contract in 2010. With the permanence of some crew members being on reserve for many years it calls for specific attention.
