I wouldn’t have stayed at RPI longer than a semester if it wasn’t for Pi Kappa Alpha. This is such a bad idea. If RPI goes through with it I won’t be donating to or recommending the institute to anyone in the future

The greek system helped me grow both academically (help was always there) and socially (interact closely with a diverse community).
Weren't those part of what we were paying for during our college experience to better prepare for the life ahead?

While I have no objection to the ban on alcohol, considering the events that have led to this, I cannot support a blanket suspension on rush and social activities for the fraternities and sororities at RPI. While the stigma against Greek life is not without merit I feel that the incoming freshman would be losing a wonderful opportunity to expand their horizons and change their perception of the world around them in a positive way. I also feel that they would be losing out in the long run as the people they could meet and befriend in these Greek houses could end up being the people that these students rely on and share burdens with as they continue their journey through academia and adulthood.

The fraternity friendships and bonds developed over 40 years ago still provide value today as we support one another and RPI for providing that experience. Eliminating or limiting the fraternal experience seriously diminishes the value that RPI can bring. I will continue my support of the fraternity but my support of RPI is becoming questionable.

Graduate of 2004, member of AGD. The value of these organizations is unrecognized if you are considering closing off any new recruitment for fall semester. I made it through a very technical and challenging school with support from other girls within my sorority. I gained lifelong friends and a family through my Greek life participation besides the values and leadership skills these organizations provide

While not personally a member of a Greek life organization, one would have to be blind to not realize that it is an integral part of campus life and provides great value to many college students

Living in a fraternity helped to prepare myself for leadership positions in the companies I have worked for.
After 30 years, I am still connected to my brothers. It is rare for non-greeks to remain connected to their classmates.

RPI has gone full Kanye. Back in the day, no doubt Kanye was a little weird, but he was still fun and people liked him. Now Kanye has gone absolutely fucking crazy and everyone’s just looking at him like what the hell are you doing man? Same with RPI.

10 years later my sorority sisters are still some of the most important people in my life. My RPI experience was defined by it and otherwise I would have transferred to another school.

I cannot imagine what RPI would have been like without my fraternity (or my son's fraternity). I cannot imagine what my lief afterward would have been like either! I would not have met my wife if not through a brother!
