Eliminating Greek Life at RPI will not only deplete alumnae donations, it will destroy the school's ability to develop leaders...a distinction SO important for company recruiters. Don't want to see RPI fall even lower in the rankings...

If Fraternities and Sororities are not allowed to actively rush and hold recruitment events at RPI, I will be withholding all future donations to the school.

Freshman year, I was dabating transferring. There was nothing that assured me I belonged at RPI. But becoming a part of my sorority provided countless mental, emotional, social, and academic resources that I knew I had found where I belonged. Joining a house gives you a purpose to grow as a person, to volunteer, to strive for excellent academics, and to socialize with people you may never have met otherwise. It’s a support system, people to laugh with, a house of shoulders to cry on. Why completely take that away from incoming and future RPI students?

If it was not for my fraternity I do not think I would have made it through my freshman year at RPI, and a lot of my brothers say the same

Alpha Gamma Delta. The Greek system's rush and recruitment should not be impacted due to activities conducted outside of these periods.

Class of ‘90- being a part of AGD was one of the best parts of my time at RPI- the leadership and teamwork alone prepared me for a successful career in Silicon Valley.

Moves like these are not endearing alumni to this insitute. Also it shows poor leadership when the only response you can think of to the actions of a few fraternities is to punish the entire system. Unless your goal is to get rid of the Greek system. That's not the goal, right? Please state that in writing, publicly.

Alpha Gamma Delta founding member, class of 81. My sorority was my support system. we were an extreme minority as women in engineering in the late 70's. Women still are. These women provided both the academic and emotional support that allowed me to succeed both at RPI and in life.

My Fraternity experience did more to prepare me for adult and professional life than any course or program offered by RPI. I will continue to contribute to my fraternity's scholarship and housing funds, but will NOT make any donations to Rensselaer.

Greek Life is the reason I have my job. It's the reason I know how to be a contributing member of society. It's the reason I left RPI with the social and life skills that put me ahead of many of my peers. This move will leave me no choice but to stop visiting and donating to RPI, and makes me embarrassed to be associated with the Institute.

Over the past few years since I graduated I have donated thousands of dollars towards scholarships for individuals to attend RPI. I will be suspending any donation until such time that this witch hunt has ended.

Class of 1986, Greek life is a special part of my memories of RPI. Every fraternity needs to be judged on their actions and not because of a few the whole system stopped. What would judging all teach our young adults, not anything about being fair and working to create rules that protect each individual but allows each of us freedom to express ourselves and form groups of our choosing.

Banning rush and recruitment doesn't do anything towards a positive Greek or college experience. Put some thought into what you're doing instead of just fighting something you obviously don't understand.
