DTD '14. Personally, I will not donate or visit RPI ever again if the ban on rush and recruitment proceeds. Larger than myself, this action will crush the strongest sense of community that RPI has, and its most significant leadership environment. Likely, this action will destroy the best parts of RPI with long-term ramifications while not even solving the root cause of the issues. Changing the culture through better communication is the only way out, though it may be a little more work than issuing a decree. Please, don't take the easy way out on this one.

Retain fall rush for Greek organizations. This is essential to their survival while RPI and the IFC come to resolution on issues of concern.

DTD '77 - I remain astounded at the inability of RPI to communicate coherently with the Alumni particularly on an issue with cultural ramifications such as this. SMH. Save the postage on the donation request mailings.

Greek life is very important to the morale, sense of community and belonging for a lot of students. Taking that away for future generations impacts student support systems as well as creating a group of alumni that no longer believe in the actions of the university they attended. Banning fall recruitment will have a negative impact on greek life. Alcohol is a separate issue that exists for ALL students enrolled in college. There needs to be a culture change across the entire university. Stop targeting a specific group of students and take away their recruitment when all students have issues with this. Its profiling and should stop immediately.

This appears to be the way the administration operates - they did it with the Union and now with fraternities. Removing risk and power and choice from the students is not the way to create tomorrow’s leaders. Don’t let RPI deprive the student body the chance to self determine

All of Greek Life should not be blamed for the actions of a few. By trying to remove Greek life as a whole, RPI is refusing responsibility for their students by finding a scape goat. This is not the way to protect students. I felt safer at RPI with my sisters than I did being unaffiliated.

The Greek Life experience is the second most important thing I got out of RPI after the degree. To deprive others of that opportunity would be a senseless blow to the school's cultural offerings. Fix problems by actually focusing on those problems, instead of attempting to dismantle whole institutions.
