It would be better if the administration realized over a third of their alumni are former Greek and that the experience is more essential than they realize. Especially when they don’t have housing to even fit their sophomores any more.

Please reevaluate this decision! I am a mother of three RPI graduates , they all are members of RPI's greek community and it helped them to develop as leaders on the campus! Please look closely at the wonderful leadership opportunities greek life provides and all the community services they provide to the Troy community. You will place many greek houses in financial difficulties with a suspended fall recruitment! More discussion—this time including alumni and students is needed!

Greek life is an important aspect of life at RPI. The support system it creates lasts a lifetime. To cancel fall rush would be shortsighted and damaging to many chapters.

Yes, bad things have happened, but you can't overlook the good that has been done. I'm not saying that is an excuse, but we shouldn't deprive the future classes from the opportunity to be a part of something where they can make life-long relationships.

This is outrageous to punish all fraternities for specific actions of a few individuals. Greek life was an important part of my college experience and I doubt I would have so many connections and friendships today. It is absolutely not reasonable to ban alcohol. How about again punishing bad and irresponsible actions.

This is an outrageous maneuver to control and deter positive social relationships. I grafuduated from RPI 4 years ago and the people I rushed with are my closest friends to this very day. Give the kids the fair oportunity to develop these profound and life-long lasting relationships. It is an absolute travesty to deny such growth opportunities.

Although I disagree wholeheartedly with cancelling recruitment/rush entirely for the fall, I could see a potential benefit in pushing it back further into the semester to allow students a bit more time to acclimate to college and get their bearings. I doubt that's the issue the task force is focusing on though. Seems like they just want to hurt the houses in the quickest way possible.
