Please build a bigger boathouse. We rowers would benefit so much from this as during our season we use it 4 to 5 times a week but half our boats are on a trailer in parking lot

As an adult who only just learned to row a few years ago, I am in full support of building an additional boathouse to expand both the high school programs and rowing programs for adults.

Building a new boathouse would allow even more students the ability to row and work towards scholarships.

The boathouse serves hundreds of PW County residents.

The rowing programs in PWC include youth ages 12 through adults age 70. The lack of facilities hinders growth of the programs.

This is a great use of public funds because an additional boat house will enable even greater access to the sport / exercise of rowing to larger cross section of PWC’s citizens.

The current facility was built to house 2 to 3 teams and now houses many more. With the growth of this county, and the increased popularity of rowing, I think another facility would be a great benefit to PWC.

I am in total support for expanding the existing PWC rowing facilities by building a new boathouse that is needed to accommodate all PWC schools who will use this new boathouse.

My youngest is not an athlete at all and never showed iinterest in any sport...that is, until he tried crew at a Learn to Row event hosted by the Prince William Crew Association. After just 1 season in 2021, he has fallen in love with it and has chosen to do crew year round , including winter conditioning, which just uses a local gym for staying in shape. It is one of the only sports where 8th graders and older (even a fiest time senior!) can start without any knowledge or experience in the sport. I've seen seniors join the team for the first time ever and thrive in it. It promotes teamwork and camaraderie even between the schools. Those who join are wholeheartedly welcomed in, regardless of size or experience. My youngest is normally reserved and does not socialize a lot, but he is thriving in it. His confidence increased significantly. Providing a proper facility dedicated to our schools would benefit all high school students in the county. It would also attract more scholarship opportunities from big universities for students who would otherwise never get looked at since a lot of them don't do other big name sports like Football or Baseball. Dedicated facilities would make PWCS more competitive. Please consider funding this great international-level sport!
