In 1967 Rowan University hosted President Johnson and the Premier of the Soviet Union Alexei Kosygin. It was a Historic event that the University and the town of Glassboro carried out flawlessly. Over 40 years later Rowan and Glassboro are again ready to have the spotlight of the world on them. By signing this petition you are saying that you want to see Rowan send in an application to be a host site for one of the 2012 Presidential Debates. Two years from now Rowan will be near completion of the Rowan Boulevard project and its Medical School will be in its first open semester. Our school will be in a position where it will be ready to highlight their recent successes to the rest of the nation, and this debate will be the platform that the school will use.
The current momentum confirms that this proposal has the necessary backing to be taken seriously by the University Board of Trustees. I am finalizing a formal letter to the administration requesting a meeting to discuss the logistics of the application process.
