Pitches in Harpenden and surrounding areas are often unplayable in the winter months. This facility will create more opportunity for many boys and girls in Harpenden to practise and play regularly.

I fully support the development of an all-weather pitch at Roundwood Park school. It's just the kind of facility that we desperately need for local young people.

Both my sons have played for Colts for many years which they have enjoyed enormously. The club is a huge asset for Harpenden's youngsters; it deserves to have decent training facilities in the town which provide one coaching facility which is accessible by all players, not a hired pitch 40 minutes round-trip away.

Colts and Harpenden as a community would hugely benefit from having an Astro pitch as it would provide a year round facility not currently available within the town.

Its about time Harpenden had quality sports facilities...especially football...who else runs the amount of teams the Colts do every week without club facilities. Its amazing they are still so successful, imagine what they could do with proper training facilities.

This artificial pitch is urgently needed to guarantee games and training can go ahead at most weather conditions. This is particularly important for the development of youth football.

My son has played colts football for three years. We have never had a local all-weather facility and this initiative is long overdue. I believe this will greatly benefit the school, other sports groups and some of the wider Harpenden community.

This will help a generation of boys enjoy the benefits of being in a team and doing exercise but not having to slosh round in knee deep mud for several months which stunts their technique

Much needed in a town the size of Harpenden. The youth of today get so much enjoyment representing the ‘all-inclusive’ Harpenden Colts. Inclusive in terms of both ability and gender. Teamwork & exercise are far better than staring at a computer screen or games console!

I fully support the provision on the all weather pitch. It will enable people to train all year.
