It's critical we allow Harpenden Colts better facilities to train so many of our local children. It will reduce travel time, the impact on the environment and help the club establish itself as a leading academy for young girls and boy footballers

Much needed to allow Harpenden children to train and develop in Harpenden and reduce our carbon footprint from needless travel

Hundreds of people will benefit from having this facility. Sport has so many advantages from health to giving youngsters a real focus and togetherness. We need this pitch.

This facility is needed for all the Colts teams who have lost a lot of training and matches this season due to the poor weather which has highlighted the poor quality of a number of the pitches and practice facilities in the area.

I was a Harpenden Colt myself from U7s and am now (33 years later) Coach to the U9s. I know from both situations that this development represents a long overdue solution to the perennial problem of an all weather training facility for Harpenden Colts. The fact that it can be readily utilised by any number of organisations for year round use surely makes it a necessity for an under-resourced town of Harpenden's size.

My son has to travel all the way from St Albans to Hatfield in the winter for training with Harpenden Colts so this new facility would a huge improvement.

As per my online comment on the planning website I fully support this petition for a new all weather facility in Harpenden.

Facility would be a great benefit. We have had to take a 2 month break from training to allow pitches to recover in the winter and even then further sessions have been cancelled due to the pitches being unplayable.

This is a much needed facility for the club, school and town as a whole. Harpenden is one of the few towns of its size without this type of facility so for the benefit of our children and future children in particular this must go ahead.

Last year we had training sessions cancelled week after week due to the water-logged state of the local pitches. We need this!
