Harpenden Colts is an essential part of our Community, getting hundreds of kids out playing sport every weekend and creating memories and friendships that will last them a lifetime. This pitch will enable the club to keep the kids active whatever the weather.

I wholeheartedly support this application as it is a wonderful opportunity to continue supporting our players and community in participating in local sport. It will provide a great boost to Harpenden families.

Harpenden has so many children involved in playing football & there is a definite lack of facilities to enable children to play over the winter months when grass pitches are either frozen or water logged.

My son currently goes all the way to Hatfield for winter time training which is environmentally inappropriate considering nearly all the boys live in the immediate Harpenden area. It is therefore essential to have good all weather facilities in the immediate area which this proposal would promote. There is also well documented evidence regarding the significant health, community and social benefits of introducing excellent local sports facilities. This has been evidenced by the Harpenden skate park and the 5 aside pitch at Rothampsted Park . On the flip side having to go all the way to Hatfield or Luton for training is unlikely to encourage our children to participate in this excellent sport.

I fully support the application for the round wood artificial pitch. It would reduce the need for multiple extensive travel to the distant artificial pitches that the colts currently use. Makes sense for the colts and the community.

I think this will be an excellent facility both for the school itself an the wider community. As someone who lives on Moreton End Lane (right by the school) I do not in anyway think this would have any negative impact whatsoever on the local community and definitely a number of positive ones both financially and socially.

Having three boys keen on football I am 100% in favour of there being an allweather pitch to help support their love of the game and keep them fit , healthy and occupied!

A must for the school and the community to ensure grassroots sport is provided at facilities available all year around.
