The petition is from the citizens of Round Rock to the Round Rock City Council and Mayor to voice our support of the Lone Star Rail plan to build a train stop on the Pacific Union Line rail line in Historic Downtown Round Rock that will enable us to take a train from Round Rock to Austin and to San Antonio among many other stops.  This train also will allow residents who chose to live in the new Mixed Used neighborhood in downtown Round Rock to have another way to commute to work in downtown Austin. Also, the train will allow tourist visiting Austin to have a way to come see the wonderful town of Round Rock. The current commercial trains that use the line will use a new track that is built to go around Austin and Round Rock to allow the commuter train to use the current line. 

The last Mayor of Round Rock declined to join this project and so Round Rock has not been involved in the planning process. The current Mayor is looking the project to decide if Round Rock will join as they have two months to join or the train will just pass through Round Rock and not stop.
