Ronnie was there all the time when I was a kid--to spread his joy, to push us on the swings (way over!), and to help create great memories of a childhood wherein kids really could just be kids.

Ronnie is an awesome guy. I saw him 5 yrs or so ago at a Syr Chiefs game and he remembered who I was and it had been over 30 yrs.

I wasn't from Westvale. I was an Onondaga Hill kid, but I remember Ronnie being at all the Cherry Road basketball games cheering all the kids on with his boombox always in hand. If you lost, and you were upset, he would tell you that someone had to win and someone had to lose, but at the end it was just a game. He said you'll do better next time and taught us to always strive to do better.

I work w Ronnie as a mentor/ advocate he's been sick and in and out of the hospital hopefully he will get through this

Quick Ronnie memory...The first gift I ever bought for my mother was at a craft fair in the Cherry Road gym. I was so proud to spend my 'own'" money. I was probably in kindergarten maybe first grade. I'm 41 now unfortunately. I bought her two HANDMADE potholders, I can still see them clear as can be. Bought them off my good friend Ronnie. It's foggy a little, but I swear he made me keep the $.

I spent many years with Ronnie at Cherry Rd. We always played games and always included him. He watched over everyone and is loved by all. I think it is a wonderful gesture to name that park after him. I am sorry that my son won't have the pleasure of knowing him. God Bless Ronnie and thanks for all the memories.

I grew up in Westvale and went thru all the schools from Walberta Rd elementary to Cherry Road School then off to the middle school and 4 years at Westhill high school. Ronnie was a friend to everybody in Westvale! I think it would be a nice gesture to name the playground after Ronnie. He would love it!!
