Ronnie Paxson Playground

I lived 4 doors down the road on Parsons Dr. He was as much of a fixture in the neighborhood as he was at CRS. Nice man

He was, and is, a wonderful spirit.

Ronnie should be so honored. He was such a presence around Cherry Road School for so many years.

A beautiful soul...filled with authentic kindness. He had everyones back and we all had his. Integral part of our beloved Westvale neighborhood. A true gift.

What a great thing to do; what a great way to honor someone who has given his heart & soul to the Geddes Community!!!

My family has lived in Westvale since the early 1950's. Ronnie has been a staple to the community the entire time. My Dad introduced me to Ronnie when I was just a little tee ball player at the Geddes Little League fields. As a Westhill graduate and a Cherry Road alumnus, I strongly urge the Westhill Central School District to name the park in Ronnie's honor. In a time where money talks and sponsorships rule naming rights deals, what better way to continue to show the youth of our community the importance of kindness, love and friendship, everything that Ronnie has stood for, for over 7 decades! Westhill, it is time to do the right thing!

Ron is an amazing man.

Please do the right thing in allowing the naming of the Cherry Road Playground in honor of Ronnie. Let his legacy live on.

I remember Ronnie so very well growing up. We lived a few houses from him. He was always kind, considerate and loved helping people out. A very friendly person who really cared about all of us kids. Naming the park after him would be a true testament and an honor for him and his family.

Would love to see this happen for Ronnie Paxton!

We grew up in the 500 block of Parsons Dr and we walked by Ronnie almost every day on our way to Cherry Rd or to get the bus for Onondaga Hill middle school or Westhill, He was there always smiling, always talking. What a fabulous tribute for Ronnie.

As children we inherently knew he had the kindest gentlest soul. I don't think I was ever at Cherry Road School playground without Ronnie there. Wonderful memories. Always cheering on The Westvale Knights!

Ronnie was always friendly and welcoming, never the least bit threatening. He is a shining example of warmth and inclusion. I support the Ronnie Paxton Playground!

There are few community heros today. Parents are fearful of letting their children play in neighborhood parks and by necessity need to warn their children not to talk to strangers. In the 1960's at Cherry Road, there was little fear of such things. Ronnie was our mascot, our friend, our hero. He watched out for us, sang and danced with us, knew us all by name. We knew he was different and he did as well. But acknowledging our differences and loving each other because of them not despite them, made us better children and better adults. I 100 percent support and encourage Cherry Road School to be named after Ronnie. He truly has made the world a better place by being in it.

This is really a nice tribute for Ronnie. Thank you for doing this for a wonderful man!!
