Ronnie Paxson Playground

I grew up on Cherry Road in the 60's and remember Ronnie with such fondness. Please grant him this well deserved honor

It is very rare to have such a positive influence on children. I grew up and spent a lot of time with Ronnie. Please name the park after him. He was the best.

So many fond memories of Ronnie and Cherry Road! What a great idea to honor an amazing man.

Left Syracuse 35 years ago but the memory of Ronnie hasn't left me.

I hardly remember anything but do remember Ronnie. He deserves more than a bench or tree. Please approve the Cherry Road park in his name.

I believe just for Ronnies' pure innocence & True Heart ❤️ Deserves the park named after him along with a statue and plaque that states: at one point in life you could trust a stranger. Ron honestly was & will always be an Angel

I went to Cherry Rd. school back in the late 1950's. We lived on Cherry Rd. and as kids, played at the park during the summer. Ronnie Paxson was a big brother to us- He towered over us, but what a "gentle giant." I strongly urge the Board to name Cherry Rd. park after this kind soul who taught us great life lessons.

Ronnie Paxson never failed to make me smile. I will never forget all the memories shared at the Geddes ball park.

Ronnie touched the lives of so many and all of us will tell you it was a privilege to know him. No one is more deserving.

What a magnificent idea! The playground has been Ronnie Paxson's domain for generations, and high time to make it official. He was everyone's babysitter/big brother, keeping an eye out over all of us. Have missed seeing him in Westvale. He is a treasure!

Grew up working at Wegmans with him from 1995 and on...such a gentle and uplifting man! Hope the school board comes to their senses.

Enjoyed having Ronnie around while I coached football and baseball at geddes.

This is such an amazingly sweet idea! I hope the board can have the heart to approve the new playground name. And if they don't, I propose the people of Westvale adopt the new name regardless, and spread it throughout the community by talking with their children and their neighbors about this great guy. I lived a couple of doors away from Ronnie. He truly was an important part of my childhood in Westvale, he was always there guiding us and showing us its ok to be different.

Ronnie pushed me on the swings when I was little. His boom box kept music playing while we played basketball in my teens. He was a local legend and naming the playground after him is more than fitting. Kudos Deno!

I'm 58 years old and even I remember Ronnie when I was a Student at Cherry Road. Even when some kids would taunt him, he never got angry or upset. He set a great example for everybody and should always be remembered. A bench or a tree is not enough!

417 Cherry Rd., Westhill 1971. To this very day I think of him. When a community has a remarkable legacy who teaches not reading, writing, and arithmetic, but acceptance and generosity to generations of kids, that's a legacy to cherish and honor and a true teaching opportunity.

Having a child with challenges myself,I fully concur with doing this! Few so called "normal" people can say they have given what Ronnie has!
