A unmeasured baseball stat. How many runners never attempted to go an extra base on Rocky‘s arm. You probably say many runs just by his reputation.

Rocky Colavito passes every test to be in the Hall of Fame. His offense, his defense, his value to the team, his legendary throwing arm, and his mythic status in Cleveland are all more than enough to qualify him for election among the immortals of baseball. Please right this wrong and put Rocky where he belongs, in the Hall among his peers and fellows.

My favorite Indian during my high school years. I watched him on TV the night he hit four homers in the same game. If I recall correctly the game was in Detroit against the Tigers.

Over 10 years from 1957-66 no player in the American League hit more HR, RBI, extra base hits or total bases. He is also 1 of 23 players in history to have 45/140/.400 club.

Based on his record, Rocky belongs in the HoF. It was a thrill to watch him play when he played for the Tigers!

I was shocked to learn that Rocky Colavito — one of the outstanding sluggers (and outfielders) of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s — still hadn’t been enshrined in the Hall of Fame. It’s time to correct this oversight.

Rocky Colavito was a baseball hero to many fans in the Motor City, even after his playing days here ended. He was an excellent role model for the kids, who gravitated toward the affable slugger, even with Tiger greats like Al Kaline, Norm Cash, and Jim Bunning playing along side of Rocky. And Colavito put up the numbers, too. He was a hitter with immense power, always among the league leaders in the power stats. And a skilled right fielder with an arm so strong, Detroit played Rocky in right field even though MLB's best right fielder of the 50's and 60's was already on their roster. Fortunately for Detroit, Al Kaline was as able in center field as he was in right. For the four years, from 1960 to 1963, Rocky played in Detroit, the heart of Bengals line up, their 3, 4, and 5 hitters of Kaline, Cash, and Colavito, were as dangerous as any in either league, including the Yankees. Colavito has the numbers and the image and the love of the fans. He belongs in Cooperstown.

The nicest baseball player to kids that I ever met. He waited for every kid that wanted his autograph until the line was over. I never forget him. You didn't mention his great arm.
