Hope this helps, but I doubt it. A couple of years ago about 10 Police Dept in Chicago's NW Suburbs that are dispatched by North West Central Dispatch went encrypted. I had been listening to police calls since 1968 and now nothing in my town.

Without this information i wouldn't be aware of 2 armed robbery within my block one with serious head injuries from being pistol whipped. I feel they have a responsibility to make public this information for MY safety

Encryption is a good idea and will definitely help create a culture of fear and distrust in the police by those of whom have always been law enforcement's biggest advocates. A community that works together as a community in keeping everyone safe and informed is no longer necessary when the ability create an environment of paranoia between law enforcement and civilians is so much more dysfunctional, dangerous and terrifying in our brave new world.

Rockford Scanner keeps us up to date on what's going on. It's nice to know what actually goes on in Rockford and surrounding towns. Don't take away the scanners. It's been around for years. If anything delay the scanners for a few minutes. Everyone knows Rockford is one of the top WORST cities to live and I believe taking scanners away will make it worse. I may move out of town or state because I won't know what is actually happening around me. I live on the west side of Rockford. Rockford Scanner makes me feel safer in my area. They keep us informed.

I should have the right to know what is happening where I work and live so that I may make an informed decision for my own safety.
