I think its important for we citizens to know what is going on around us. If the police have some sort of private bust that they dont want public, they should be able to use a private channel. I dont see why they want to keep it from the public unless they have something to hide?

It is only fair that we be made aware of activity going on in our community. We pay taxes and we live in this area. It would be a great injustice to the community to keep this type of knowledge unavailable when it directly affects our safety and ability to prepare for the challenges we have been facing for quite some time. This site and the scanner keep us informed which is what, we as citizens of this community, should have available to us so that we are not blind sided by what could potentially affect us at any day or time in our normal activities.

I think we have a right to know what's going on in our neighborhood ! When I hear shot's fired calls or home invasion calls, I call my children & grandchildren if it's happening in their neighborhood So their aware what's going on as a precaution ! What's bad about that ? If your worried about people you have warrants for hearing then why not have encrypted channel's for those calls and leave the rest for use to be forewarned about dangers in our neighborhoods ! I live in the Rockford area a place that we should have a little heads up about danger !
