It's a waste of money! Someone will come up with a new scanner just like they did when they went digital. They can use their phones for secret stuff like they do now

It is my right as a tax paying citizen to know what is going on in my city at all times. I have children, family and work in this city. It is my right to know what goes on especially since I live in the most dangerous part of the city. You are just giving residents another reason to leave this city and state with your ridiculous bills and policies. I demand that our right to listen to the police scanner is not taken away!

I'm partially disabled and alone a lot while everyone else works so I take comfort to listening to the scanner to be aware

I don't have a scanner but love getting R/S on our computer. We get to here a lot of crime that doesn't make the paper or new until much later...

Good luck! I don't think we'll stop this from happening. The government didn't force out 100s shortwave channels, to free up space for digital, to not use it.

I understand the reasoning. I understand the encryption of the Detective and other specialized channels. I do not understand the encryption reasoning for the patrol channels.
