Highest level of community charge for fewest facilities. Change needed now.

Like many of us, I've spent the past few weeks enjoying the nice weather and walking locally with the kids. In doing so, I've been appalled by the state of our roads and pavements in our village. I hear many comments about motorists speeding, litter etc yet none about the utter disgrace of our road safety. The road from the Lone to the village is a case in point. It is surely a matter of time before someone is killed. I will not walk my children on this stretch of road which clearly needs urgent drainage, surfacing and barrier work. Speeding is not the greatest risk on this road, the road is the risk itself. The road from the New Inn to Clydach is also a massive risk - people walking to the New Inn and Cwm Clydach are putting their lives at risk - why no pavement? Has anyone seen the mess made by CCP school of pavement and drainage, not to mention broken surfaces creating enormous skid risks? We pay very high council tax rates and frankly are left to endure an appalling service. We deserve better and I hope we can all drum up some local support to resolve this. The area needs a thorough risk assessment and correct road safety appraisal and I for one wish to see some action sooner rather than later. I would also like to see somewhere safe that we could allow our children in the village to play in safety. Please support this petition.
