Skate Park for Rancho Murieta

Skateboarding can be a pastime, a sport, an escape, or a lifelong passion. It’s whatever one wants it to be. The children, teenagers and oldies, such as myself, of Rancho Murieta would benefit greatly from having a patch of concrete with a few obstacles to call their own. A place to stay out of trouble. A place to get away. A place to socialize. A place for positivity.
Skateboarding has shaped who I am as a person today. Without skateboarding, I would not have the persistence or patience learned from trying the same trick for months on end. Without skateboarding, I would not have the eclectic lifelong friends that I have today. Without skateboarding, I would have never picked up a camera to create skate videos with my friends (videography is my profession).
If you are in favor of Rancho Murieta building a small skatepark, please sign.
For reference:
“At the average cost of $45 per square foot, a 3,000 square foot skate spot [would cost] $135,000.”
“Skateparks that are built within the context of a larger park development can cut costs by sharing heavy equipment and other resources.”
