The Riverside Festival has been the finale of the Stamford Festival for 30 years, originally titled Rock on the Rec and then Music on the Meadows. For over 10 years it has been run as the Riverside Festival, and in 2007 it was registered as a not-for-profit Limited Company and Registered Charity.
Riverside is an open-air music festival which traditionally has been held annually on the first Saturday of July, on the meadows in Stamford, showcasing at least 30 bands and artists, usually more, mostly from the surrounding area, on at least 3 main stages - the Riverside Stage, the Marquee Stage and the Acoustic Stage.

Due to a decision made by Stamford Town Council, this years festival has had to be cancelled, although the festival is independently run by a non profit organisation that is purely voluntary, the Stamford Meadows are overseen by the local council.

The feedback has been exhausting to process because so many of you share the same frustration about the empty space where the festival used to be. I am spending my evenings chasing down officials who refuse to give a straight answer about the future of the meadows. It feels like a long road but I am not walking away from this.

Seeing this level of support reminds me why we started this fight in the first place even when the silence from the council feels heavy. It is exhausting work but knowing so many of you want these meadows back to life keeps me moving forward.

This was the best weekend of the year for my family. My kids grew up going to this festival every summer. Such a shame it is gone.
BRING IT BACK! Stamford is nothing without Riverside. The meadows feel so empty in July now.
We look forward to this every year. It’s a local tradition and it’s missed by everyone in town.
Total joke that they stopped it. Local festivals are what keep communities together.
Too many memories on the meadows to let this just fade away. Hope they reconsider.

Used to play here with my old band back in the day. Proper local music scene dying out because of this nonsense.
