We must be careful as to who we hire for private patrols as I have heard that some of our young adults have been harassed

These issues impact those of us who live in the ROCA district. I support this petition.

My first concern is getting the homeless out of our neighborhoods, parks, trails and city streets. Sadly I am no longer sympathetic after seeing and hearing all of the problems. I hope this petition works but with a mayor and local politicians that do nothing but try to throw money at the problem and tie the hands of the police I am not optimistic.

I full support all agendas of ROCA. I have a residence in this area and see the increase in crime which is a concern.

I was almost attracted by a man on the bike trail a few week ago. He ran towards me to punch me and missed as I ducted and dodged him. I'm 66 years old and I've been cycling my whole life on bike trails and never had a problem. I now notice strings of homeless men banning together and some hiding within the bike trail. They also have what seems to be a makeshift stolen bike shop where they are piecing bikes together and selling them. They also seem to have a traveling drug delivery person who goes through there to sell drugs. The bike trail had become is really dangerous. Something needs to be done to protect our safety or why even have it. It's not a freeway for the homeless, it's to be enjoyed by the people that pay taxes and bought homes close to it to use it. The park isn't housing, it a day use for people to enjoy with their families without being hassled by people crazy on drugs ir the homeless bathing in plain sight! People are in a dangerous situation in the park because there isn't any security or protection from the mass population of homeless or criminals. You can understand what I'm talking about just by going through the entrances. You pass tents, people laying everywhere, trash, buckets of feces, drugs, and prostitution just getting the gate off Richards Blvd. I wont even take my grandkids there anymore. I pay high taxes living in Natomas and something needs to be done.

I've been to many cities that have signs posted "No camping within 500 yards of homes or businesses". If the police see camping they first warn them to move, If they don't move by the next day they take all their belonging and dump them. The people usually move because they don't want their things taken and dumped. Ticketing them is useless. They should turn Aerojet into a homeless housing project and screen the people who want to live there for drugs and a criminal record. There should be a give "back to society program" for the privilege to live in these homes if they're not employed. The give back program can be cleaning up the mess of trash on the streets and levees until they seek and find employment. A bus could pick them up and take them to different location that need assistance. It would also free up some of the cities funds for other projects. I feel bad for all the homeless and donate my time and money to them. But, they need a leg up to join society and gain their dignity back. Just giving them free money or housing isn't the way to go. They need to have the oppootunity to climb back into society and the give back program would be the first step to achieving that goal and getting them back on their feet. Thanks
