I want to keep 5 chickens in my backyard, next to my garden. This should be allowed.

I believe that the benefits of allowing city residents to keep laying hens far outweigh the risks. This is a realistic way for the city to encourage moving forward by going 'backward' - back to a way of living that is knowledgeably connected to our existence on this earth and the food cycle.

I grew up on the farm, I would like my sons to know where food comes from!

We grow our own gardens for food so why not raise hens for the purpose of home grown eggs?

I would like to sign up for the pilot project. I've recently moved into the city from an acreage and miss my chickens.

Love the idea. Would have several chickens to teach my granddaughter that food does not only come from a store.

I fully support the proposal to allow all Edmontonian's to keep hens in thier back yards. I would love to become involved and have hens for my family to care for and fresh healthy eggs to eat.
