I'm very hopeful that Edmonton City Council will allow us to keep backyard hens. After all, one can have hens in Montreal, Kingston, Guelph, Victoria and other Canadian cities.

I would like to have some chicken's so that my children can grow up knowing where food comes from.

absolutely a great idea .... Great for the city to think outside the box of regulations and think a little more big picture. Congratulations to the city's council.

I would have hens in my backyard in a heartbeat if I were allowed to do so. I want to become more involved in producing my own food.

I think this would benefit my kids and my garden, fresh eggs, pest control, they can eat the scraps and bugs and also they are very cute! Much less noisy then my neighbor's beagle who "sings" all day long!

I want to keep 5 chickens in my backyard, next to my garden. This should be allowed.
